Full back
Full back is a playing position in the backs on a rugby league team.[1] The position is numbered 1 by the International Laws of the Game.[1]
The full back is often their team's last line of defence, standing behind the main line of defenders. Defensively, fullbacks must be able to chase and tackle players who make a break through the first line of defence, as well as having strong positional play to enable them to catch or retrieve kicks made by the attacking side.
In attack, a full back is considered one of the players comprising the spine. A full back may come into the attacking line to "create an extra man" in an attacking move. If a break has been made by their team, a full back is often expected to be ready to assist as a support player, in position to provide the ball carrier with a passing option.
