Mid-air tackle

A mid-air tackle is a tackle attempted on an opposing player while that player is off the ground having jumped to catch the ball on the full from a kick.[1]

Jumping while fielding a kick is a tactic that players often use to gain an advantage when contesting a high ball with an opposing player.
